¿Hola, Barcelona, qué tal? – bbh Community Retreat 2022

Selina Richter October 26, 2022

This year’s bbh Community Retreat took the bbh team to Barcelona for a relaxing long weekend. The city centre invited to linger together in bars, clubs and restaurants with Spanish tapas. Shopping markets with hustle and bustle, the impressive architecture or the beach of Barceloneta… There was something for every bbh’er to shine. A walk along Las Ramblas was also part of the repertoire.

Starting with a guided tour through the history of Barcelona, we immersed ourselves in exciting Spanish traditions, some of which were very unusual for us, such as the Christmas custom Tió de Nadal or – very lovingly – Caga Tió, and listened impressed to the songs of some street musicians. This was followed by a turbulent and humid catamaran tour at the harbour in the sunshine, which was enjoyed by all, albeit with brief seasickness for a few 😉 On the last day, some bbh’ers gained a great perspective over the city with the cable car, where they could even catch a glimpse of the Sagrada Familia.

For many, it was their first stay in Barcelona. Others welcomed the city with a certain familiarity. However, the most important thing for all was the time spent together. So there was a lot of laughing, card playing and dancing together. Let’s see where it goes next year…
